Took delivery of 4CA from LaCoste and Schorer after spending a couple fantastic days together exploring Sun N Fun (SnF) 2023 in Lakeland, Florida. Elected to fly >1300 NM in a single day due to impending weather and perfect conditions on the day of departure.
Join us for a day of fun, hangar flying, learning, and of course, lunch. This will be a great chance to reconnect with other local pilots and aircraft owners like yourself. Organized by the Plymouth Aero Club.
Many of us in the club grew up in aviation during the days of the E6B and paper charts. I can recall sitting in a blazing hot room one August plotting courses for my student cross countries back in the late 80’s. If you are like me, the process was way too cumbersome for life after I had my ticket. But, Foreflight has changed that for us and provides the pilot with a wealth of information from weather to NOTAMS to airspace and beyond.
One of our members, Karl Swenson, does a lot of flying for coastal Massachusetts cities and towns to track changes in the natural landscape, especially after storms hit the region. Here’s a great photo of Karl’s that made it into the March 2018 issue of TIME Magazine and the story behind it:
Cessna Skyhawk N70196 on display at the Quonset Airshow (Rhode Island Airshow) this year. Member Brian Pratt took a special trip down there for the General Aviation fly in.
One of our more prolific members, Paul, took his family for a quick flight up to Maine. This is the view from the IFR approach at night.
We often need and are helped with trained certified instructors for our flight training and our required recurrent training. They also have different professional aviation jobs. Sometimes flying to other countries. We support them in their goals. The instructors at Shoreline have always been adaptable, professional and supportive. Professional and General Aviation meet at the airport.
